Mission Statement
Gerdeman-Hovest, Inc. is an organization dedicated to providing a quality product at a fair price with unparalleled customer service in the construction industry.
History
In 1952, Lavern Gerdeman and Donald “Berg” Hovest founded Gerdeman-Hovest in Ottawa, Ohio. In March of 1969, the owners petitioned and received certification for incorporation in the State of Ohio, thus becoming Gerdeman-Hovest, Inc. The company’s initial market was general contracting, specializing as masonry contractors. As the company grew, we began to do a variety of both residential and commercial projects. Now, we primarily do commercial and industrial projects and specialize in the erection of pre-engineered metal building.
In June of 1991, the Corporation purchased the shares of stock owned by Donald and Beatrice Hovest. In July of 1991, Ronald H. Gerdeman and Herman A. Gerdeman had the opportunity to purchase a portion of the available shares. Since then, Ron and Herm have gained total ownership of the Corporation; today, Herm Gerdeman continues to serve as president.
